Tesla Robotaxi posts photos of a gold Cybercab at Giga Texas with a roof Starlink antenna. Elon says all cars will have Starlink for vehicle bandwidth.
Tesla's robotaxi account posted photos of a gold Cybercab at Gigafactory Texas with a low-profile satellite antenna on the roof and a short caption: "First Cybercab with @Starlink integration" (Tesla Robotaxi on X).
That is a hardware show, not a software release note. The car is still a Cybercab. Driving still depends on onboard autonomy compute. What changed in the public package is that Tesla is showing a production-intent body with Starlink hardware built in, not only a cutaway diagram.
The day before the photo post, Elon wrote that all cars will have Starlink in the future, calling it the only way to get super high bandwidth to billions of vehicles (Elon on X). In a related post he said Starlink is the only system that can support the bandwidth growth AI needs (Elon on X). Those lines set the product thesis. The robotaxi photos are the first Cybercab-side evidence that the antenna is landing on real metal.
What the posts do not settle: whether the dish is Starlink Mini, a Cybercab-specific V5-class unit, or another SKU; whether the link is for fleet telemetry, cabin streaming, dead-zone fallback, or all three; power draw and motion performance at highway speed; price impact on a vehicle Tesla still aims to build cheap; or a schedule for factory-fit Starlink across retail cars rather than robotaxi units. Current unsupervised Cybercab ops remain limited to dense metros where cellular is already strong, so the near-term value is more about always-on fleet link and future sparse-coverage routes than a must-have for city geofences.
This sits next to Tesla's earlier line that Cybercab employee rides at Giga Texas are starting soon ([Cybercab employee rides original](/stories/orig-cybercab-employee-giga-tx-20260713)). Connectivity and cabin rides are different product tracks. One is who sits in the car. The other is how the car stays online when cellular drops.
