Falcon 9 deploys 27 Starlink satellites from Vandenberg

A Falcon 9 left Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base on Sept. 6 and put 27 Starlink satellites on a path to low Earth orbit. SpaceX posted a California launch webcast before liftoff, then said the rocket had launched those 27 satellites.

SpaceX later confirmed deployment of the 27 Starlink satellites. Space.com timed liftoff at 7:26 a.m. Pacific (14:26 UTC) on Sept. 6, about an hour before that confirmation. The gap matches the roughly 62-minute deploy mark on SpaceX's Starlink mission page.

That page is the post-flight record. It says the first stage was on its 19th flight and had previously launched NROL-126, Transporter-12, SPHEREx, NROL-57, USSF-366, "and now 14 Starlink missions." After separation, the booster landed on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship in the Pacific. Approximate times on the page: landing at T+8 minutes 21 seconds, Starlink deploy at T+1 hour 2 minutes. Space.com also reported the first stage landing on that droneship about 8.5 minutes after liftoff and the 27 satellites deploying on schedule 62 minutes after launch.

SpaceX's webcast, launch, and deploy posts are timestamped Sept. 6. The mission page header still prints "Sunday, September 9" beside 7:26 a.m. PT.

On Aug. 25, SpaceX launch VP Kiko Dontchev wrote that a pad 40 flight was the last planned Falcon 9 Starlink launch from Florida, that future Florida Starlink missions would fly on Starship, and that Vandenberg would keep flying Starlink on Falcon 9. Sunday's stack is that California job: Falcon 9, SLC-4E, Pacific droneship recovery.

It adds satellites to the constellation. The next hard updates are the next Vandenberg window and a flown Starship Starlink result from Florida, if SpaceX posts one.
